Cormorant, 1 flew towards Grane,

Grey Heron, 2 singles flew down the valley,

Canada Goose, c5 pairs,

Mallard, c12,

Goosander, a male was resting on shingle at the side of the river,

Sparrowhawk, male being harried by a crow at Townsendfold,

Pheasant, male on pasture off Holcombe Road,

Moorhen, pair on pond at Irwell Vale,

Lapwing, a pair on pasture in display off Holcombe Road,

Curlew, a pair calling on pasture off Holcombe Road,

Herring Gull, c40 through North West,

L.B.B.Gull, c12 through North west,

B.H.Gull, c30 on EBSW,

Wood Pigeon, c30 in small groups or pairs,

Stock Dove, a pair & single at E.B.S.W & 1 single off Holcombe Road,

Collared Dove, c3 pairs in Irwell Vale,

Kingfisher, 1 zipped down the river,

Dipper, 2 singles,

G.S.Woodpecker, c4 singles with drumming & calling birds,

Grey Wagtail, pair in display at Lumb Vale, plus 2 other pairs,

Song Thrush, 4 singing birds,

Mistle Thrush, 1 singing bird,

Redwing, a flock of 4 over calling,

L.T.Tit, c6 pairs,

Coal Tit, c6 singing birds,

Nuthatch, 3 singing birds along the Irwell & 2 singing up Buckden Clough,

Jay, at HTL & Alderbottom,

Rook, 6 nests at Irwell Vale,

Starling, c30 on pasture off Holcombe Road,

Chaffinch, c20 with many in song,

Goldfinch, 2 lots of 2,

Greenfinch, flocks of 3 & 4,

Bullfinch, calling at Lumb Vale and 2 near EBSW.

Redpoll, 1 flew from Alders off Holcombe Road towards, Alden Valley,

Siskin, flocks of 4, 3 & 2 flew down the valley,
