3.30-5pm

 

2 buzzards

1 g c grebe

5 mallard

singing song thrush blackbird robin dunnock wren   chaffinch  goldfinch  great tit

1 singing stonechat

1 g s woodpecker

1 grey wag

5 pied wags

plenty of meadow pipits..on the move?

from about 3.15pm-4.45pm

2 goldcrest
1 tree creeper
3-4 pied wags
plenty of meadow pipits
1 g c grebe
singing wren goldfinch chaffinch great tit blackbird

1 reed bunting

1 goosander
1 goldeneye
4 oystercatchers around calf hey with a 5th flying around further to the east of the reservoir towards grane road....

2 willow warbler too...first of year for me

6.55-7.45pm

1 song thrush singing in car park

great tits, chaffinches, meadow pipit and pied wagtails feeding on mown grass on south side between felled plantation

2 separate green wood peckers both yaffling


a few willow warblers

a fied pied wagtails
1 grey wagtail
5 mallards all drakes

100 plus crows in the roost

100 plus b h gulls heading north

usual woodpigeons dunnocks wrens blue tits blackbird

a few meadow pipits some parachuting - I wonder if those seen a coupe of weeks ago were on passage as none were parachuting?

5-6 large gulls moved north.....3 adult great blacks and 1 juve......1 appeared herring gull complex...the great blacks soared over calf hey and 2 dropped down and heading back south to ogden again....

11.30-12.20

1 grey wagtail
6 mallard drakes
2 oystercatchers - mating!
a few pied wagtails and meadow pipits
a raven over heading east
2 birds in flight possibly stonechat
green woodpecker yaffling from fairy glen

willow warblers, a blackcap, robins, 1 song thrush, blackbird, wren, great tit, chaffinch all singing form fairy glen

from 11.30-12.15

1 mallard drake

some meadow pipits pied wagtails

usual crows, woodpigeons, b h gulls over

2 wren in song


windy and wet.....nothing other than that.


at about 8.45pm today passage of large gulls min of 60........the bulk were Herring Gull, min of 6 G B B Gulls and maybe e about 10-15 Lessers - all flying low....heading north over grane.....
