• sparrowhawk - 1 female over EBSW & 1 male over Chatterton
• pheasant - 1 male on the road at Manchester Road flew into Crow Trees & another calling bird at the rear of the soap works
• green woodpecker - 1 yaffling at Lumb Vale
• stock dove 1 pr copulating on wires at Alderbottom whilst another looked on
• swallow - min 60
• sand martin - 2
• house martin - min 3 
• blackcap - 1 singing at EBSW
• willow warbler - 4 at EBSW & 1 at Alderbottom
• chiffchaff - 1 at EBSW, 1 at Alderbottom & 1 at Irwell Vale (birds also at Stubbylee Park, Wales Terrace & Park Road Waterfoot)
• goldcrest - 1 singing near the train station at Irwell Vale
• nuthatch - 2 singing at Lumb Vale
• coal tit - 1pr copulating at Irwell Vale
• reed bunting - 1 male on the beds at EBSW

also today 1 buzzard mobbed by 2 carrion crows over New Line

min 20 brambling still coming to our feeders at Gaghills (at least 40 were present on 7th April)
