Mallard, pair on Clough Bottom,

Pheasant, 1 ran across the car park at Clowbridge & c10 calling birds,

Moorhen, 1 at Clowbridge,

Common Sandpiper, 1 at Clough Bottom,

Lapwing, pairs at Swallow Shore, south Swinshaw Moor & Seat Naze,

Curlew, c4 pairs,

L.B.B.Gull, c20 mainly east,

B.H.Gull, c6,

Wood Piogeon, c20 in small flocks to 6 birds,

Stock Dove, 1 at Peers Clough,

Cuckoo, finally caught up with one calling near Compston's Cross,

Tawny Owl, 1 sat on a plastic tree guard in Peers Clough,

Swift, 1 at Clowbridge & c6 over Rawtenstall,

Skylark, c30, mainly in song,

Swallow, c20 especially Swallow Shore!

Sand Martin, 4 west over Clowbridge,

Meadow Pipit, c60, many in song,

Pied Wagtail, 2 pair,

Grey Wagtail, 1 at Clough Bottom,

Song Thrush, c5 singing birds,

Mistle Thrush, 1 on playing fields at Marl Pits,

Willow Warbler, c40 especially, the reservoirs and Marl Pits,

Chiffchaff, 1 singing at Clowbridge & 1 singing at the top of peers Clough,

Blackcap, 2 singing at Marl Pits,

Grasshopper Warbler, 1 reeling at the new plantation, Clough Bottom,

Whitethroat, 2 singing at Marl Pits,

Jackdaw, c30 feeding on pasture and carrying food down towards Lumb,

Starling, c20 in 1s & 2s,

House Sparrow, c12 mainly Clowbridge car park,

Greenfinch, c12 mainly Clowbridge & Swallow Shore / Peers Clough,

Chaffinch, c30,

Goldfinch, c15,

Redpoll, c8  at Clowbridge, Compston's & Clough Bottom plantations,

Reed Bunting, c6 pairs including pair feeding young at nest in rushes.
