A few bits and pieces seen in between the rain today

• a large bird of prey that flew over Spring Mill Res was probably a red kite
• mute swan - 1pr with 6 cygnets in a garden on Wallbank Estatate
• oystercatcher - 1pr in Whitworth Quarry, 1 pr at Spring Mill Res, 1 at Cowm & 1 flying over Wallbank Estate
• common sandpiper - 1 at Cowm Res (unusual here)
• curlew - 1 chased a sparrowhawk over Spring Mill Res & 1 heard near Whitworth Quarry
• lesser black backed gull - 82 in Whitworth Quarry
• house martin - 16 at Spiring Mill Res
• wheatear - 2 in Whitworth Quarry
• bullfinch - heard near Spring Mill
