Canada Goose, pair with 5 goslings plus c40 grazing on pasture,

Mallard, male feeding with Black Headed Gulls,

Sparrowhawk, female went under a flock of Starlings,

Pheasant, c6 calling birds,

Moorhen 2 singles on lodges,

Lapwing, 2 singles which may have been a pair; a poor breeding season here,

Curlew, constantly calling and probably 2 pairs,

B.H. Gull, c50 feeding on pasture,

L.B.B.Gull, c12 over,

Wood Pigeon, c40 in flocks up to 20,

Stock Dove, a pair near the big waterfall,

Swift, c12,

Skylark, c12,

Swallow, c50 with most farms having several pairs,

Sand Martin, 1 over south,

Meadow Pipit, c12,

Pied Wagtail, 2 pairs,

Grey Wagtail, 1 near big waterfall,

Wheatear, 1 on dry stone wall near Harden Moor,

Stonechat, pair near Cheesden Bar Lodge,

Mistle Thrush, c4 including singing bird,

Song Thrush, 2 singing,

Willow Warbler, c30,

Blackcap, 2 singing birds,

Whitethroat, 4 singing birds,

L.T.Tit, calling birds,

Jay, 2,

Rook, c30 on pasture near Rossendale School,

Jackdaw, c40 with the Rooks!

Starling, c200 in flocks to c80 including many juveniles,

House Sparrow, c20 mainly at Salesis & Buckhurst Farms,

Redpoll, c8,

Linnet, c20,

Chaffinch, c40,

Greenfinch, 2,

Goldfinch, 1,

Bullfinch, male flew over near chimney,

Reed Bunting, c6.
