8am - 1pm

 

Holden Wood:-

30 min  Lapwings..chasing Crows and Crows chasing them

2 Kestrel

1 Snipe

a possible Redshank...a bird flew across from near side to far side looked very much like a Redshank,.......a call heard was two times both very briefly..

 

3 diff Grey Herons seen - 2 adult and 1  juv

5-6 cormorant

couple of wrens

1 reed bunting calling

some black headed  gulls also being chased then chasing lapwings

300 min meadow pipits at holden wood, musbury,  slopes of calf hey ogden.....many heading west  and some south

1 green woodpecker calling from  railway line

sedge warbler in sub song

long tailed tit in  hedges on holcome road

some teal

1 moorhen adult

4-5 pied wagtail

 

Musbury:-

 

1 green woodpecker

5-6 wrens  

some linnet in meadow pipit flock

3 kestrels

1 sparrowhawk

1 rabbit in quarry

 

Calf hey:-

min 6 teal

some mallard

1 g c grebe

1 raven over woods

2 specked wood butterflies

1 blackcap in sub song

big flock of mix......blue  tits, great tits, siskin, treecreeper, plenty of goldcrest, dunnock, robin,  2 wren

2-3 calling jays

2 whinchat in ferns on western side of res

3 stonechat

1 wren 

1 grey wagtail

1 buzzard - lighter than the ones seen here before

1-2 pied wagtail

Ogden:-

1 grey heron

2 cormorants

fox on the slopes early on

 

Back on Holden Wood:-

a charm of goldfinches on the farm

 

lapwings gone -  Craggy saw them go!
