G W Egret from 8 - 12.15 flew up to Ogden on the bank, in the fields.......big bird..much bigger than the Herons...a real beauty of a bird.....
Holden Wood:-

15 mallard min
40 min lapwing scattered over 3 res
2 lbb gull first winters on bank
3 snipe, 4 the other day
1 common gull
ogden:-
1 g bb gull adult
2 more lbb gull immatures
3 whinchat - incl a juv male or moulting male a real beauty of a bird
calf hey:-
1 g c grebe
10 pied wags min on south side more flying south
7 min mallard
5-6 teal min
in woods big tit flock....great , blue coal...and a marsh/willow....I suspected willow....LUCKILY dave ousey visited and confirmed willow tit! another patch first for me! still in area till 4....lots of goldcrests, some treecreepers.....
forgot to add a male merlin dashing from slopes of calf hey to other side...
2 blackcap nearby large tit flock
100 plus meadow pipits through out, grounded or moving south
kingfisher heard but not seen
lots of goldfinches incl a charm of 60 min around calf hey
2 linnets over holden wood
3 reed buntings
willow tit seen and confirmed by dave ousey later seen at north side of res in plantation.......to get to thee exact place walk along the eastern side of the res, past the ruins, past the stream and then take stone steps up into plantation on right..and then walk about 30 metres
on Monday had about 20 min skylarks passing over maybe 30
and a very possible yellow wagtail..........a wagtail flew over with a very different call....definitely not s grey or pied wagtail.....
