Even before you'd disappeared out of sight, I disturbed the great white egret in the stream at the top end. It must have arrived while we were stood talking.

Hi All,

I was up in Alden woods looking unsuccessfully for Brambling and at 1655 hrs the Great White Egret flew, quite low, over the Irwell valley around Irwell Vale towards Grane.

Regards Brian.

hi Brian,

I should have added on Friday that when I was at Holden Wood Red the Great White Egret appeared on the reservoir but without it did not come from Ogden side. I suspect it flew from elsewhere. It must be using another water body in that area or even Greater Manchester or maybe even roosting there I feel?
