Hi Craggy

When I wrote rough legged I should have put Rough Legged - a more northern Buzzard species which is far more beautiful and majestic I feel. Rough Legged Buzzards can be confused with Common Buzzards. I have never seen them before but this year there has been an influx. Not the thousands like you get with Waxwings but more dozens maybe triple figures max! We did have one a few years back photographed by Dennis Greenwood! They are that scarce that I think Lancashire gets a record every 5 years or so. So far most are on the east coast but let us hope they cross.

As for Honey Buzzards, never seen them yet and I think the last few were recorded a couple of weeks ago. Never seen them but I was hoping one will pass through Rossendale back in September. Both Honey and Rough Legged are very scarce in the North West.
