Holden Wood:-

approx. 100 starlings came in to feed

6 cormorants in roost  -  cormorants  down as a whole

a few meadow pipit

2 stonechat in  sedges at top end  - male and female

1 moorhen

100 black headed gulls  min  over the 3 res

smaller than usual numbers of magpies,  carrion crows, jackdaws ...

1-2 pied wagtails

1 grey wagtail

0  great white egret but one reported at  brook side lodges in oswaldtwistle.....our egret loves to go touring  :P

Ogden:-

on the dam wall 2  common gulls and 8  herring gulls  immatures and adults mix   also  b h gulls with them too  - also present a small herring gull or  rather angry looking common gull  -  kevin and I saw it last week......it appears  to be a  very small herring gull  ..but cant  say for sure
