A quick hour to see if there was any sign of the Rail but not for me today:

Cormorant, 1 flew up the valley,

Canada Goose, a flock of 30 down the valley,

Teal, 3,

Kestrel, male hunting over the rough field between the res and the road,

Coot, 1,

Snipe, 1 flushed from res bank dived back into cover at the top end,

B.H.Gull, c60,

Common Gull, 2,

L.B.B.Gull, 2 over north,

Grey Wagtail, 1 at the bottom of Heap Clough,

Pied Wagtail, c6 around the res,

Dunnock, 1 in song,

Fieldfare, c100 in Heap Clough,

Redwing, c50 in small flocks,

Mistle Thrush, 1,

L.T.Tit, flock of 7,

Coal Tit, 2 in Heap Clough,

Starling, c80 in flocks to 20 heading west,

Goldfinch, c40 in Heap Clough,

Chaffinch, c6,

Greenfinch, 4 in Heap Clough,

Bullfinch, calling bird in Heap Clough,

Reed Bunting, 1 calling at the res.
