Buzzards and other chicks ringed...

Ringed 2 nests of Buzzard today both of which had 1 chick in the nest. These will have been the first Buzzards ringed in Rossendale after there welcome recent spread into our area. Many thanks to Neil Burke and Steve Howden (climber) for your help today.

Pics shows Neil holding a Buzzard chick whilst in pain being eaten alive by midges...biggrin

Beautiful photos! My favourite as to be the Common Sandpiper chick - they are all cute but that one is extra specially so! It must be very young?
