7.45 pm..

2 Little Egrets, 2 Snipe, 4 Cormorant, 15 Mallards, 25 BH Gulls.

Both Egrets left at 8pm. Flying off East out towards Helmshore before doubling back, climbing height and heading over Ogden and away west.

Other birds present on all 3 res's were-

2-3 G C Grebe on Ogden.

3-4 Grebes on Calf Hey.

Min 1 Greenshank on C Hey.

2 separate Little Owls. 1 near Ogden dam and 1 near H W Res dam at dusk.

Tawny Owl near H W Res dam.

Juv Kestrel Ogden.

Oystercatcher on H W Res at dusk - number unknown.

Surprisingly low number (none) of the commoner waders. C Sand, L R P, Lapwing.

little egrets still present - looks like they are same birds from yesterday - feeding at top end and widest point of the res.

also 1 green sandpiper (a patch first for me) lack of pipits wagtails and also commoner waders today

Only a single Oystercatcher and 15 BH Gulls on Holden Wood on Tuesday evening. No sign on Ogden or Calf Hey also. Great to watch the Swifts, Sand Martins and Swallows feeding above the dam wall though!
