Between 1500/1600 hrs light north easterly, overcast 10 degrees.
Four loose flocks of Redwing, approx 50 per flock, came over plunge heading north towards Grane, some touched down near Bleakholt. Most flew across the valley, one group of around 50 dropped onto hawthorn along the river in Irwell vale.
They were followed closely by a large unidentified raptor (around female Sparrowhawk size) which disappeared over Edenfield
