Difficult to use the description "winter" up to now this year.
After being just below flood level on Monday the Irwell is back to normal today, the surrounding area and footpaths are extremely wet. We have temps of 14 degrees today with more rain coming.
With the unseasonal weather the feeding station has been quite, below is a snapshot of the last couple of days, numbers are totals

Long-tailed Tit...only one party of 5
Chaffinch....7
Goldfinch....24 these visit every day and are the highest regular numbers I have recorded here.
Bullfinch.....one pair have been here for a couple of days.
Greenfinch....2 most days.
Siskin....small group of 3/4 visit most days.
Robin....4
Wren....2
Dunnock....2
Nutthatch......5
Blackbird....only one or two, no Thrushes.
Great Spotted Woodpecker....3
Jay......4
Jackdaw....6
Woodpigeon.....3
Collared Dove....one pair.
Pheasant....a male was here in the rain on Monday.
