A large tree falling took out all our power on Sunday, by Monday morning we were on flood alert, the culvert blocked and flooded our road around lunch time, we now have a que of electricity vans on the cycle track ( last count was nine ) and more chain saws than I new existed, we are on an emergency generator for power, in the middle of all this mayhem the following was seen....

Tawny Owl.... this one has been roosting in a nest box but was disturbed by the activity.

Siskin....a flock of around 12 has been at the feeding station and round the back of my house since Sunday.

Goldfinch.... Numbers have increased to approx 32

All four common Tits in large numbers, along with Blackbird, Robin, Wren, and Dunnock.

 Chaffinch....At least 25 coming and going all day.

Great Spotted Woodpecker.....two females, and three males.

Several Jay and Jackdaw.

On a close to flood level river were 14 female, and one male Goosander, two Cormorants, and in the flooded fields were three Grey Heron and lots of Rook, Jackdaw and Black-headed Gull.

I cleaned all feeders and sites on Saturday and replace the food, no sign of any affected birds since Friday.
