1 singing chiffchaff EBSW. 100+ pinkfeet over Townsend Fold heading in the usual direction towards Helmshore (c1130 so different lot from Brian's earlier).
Groundwork to Ewood Bridge - 2 dippers, 1 grey wag and 1 kingfisher. At least the dippers are still present on this bit of the river even if not doing much.
Lots of singing birds including 1 goldcrest, 5 chaffinches and 3 song thrushes

No dippers between Rawtenstall and Goodshaw Fold!
Clowbridge area - the usual flock of 18 lapwings plus 2 cormorants, 3 male goosanders, a few black-headed and 2 common gulls, 2 reed buntings south shore. One or two rooks in the fields to the south (about 20 here last week).
Swallow Shore - 1 skylark over north, c50 fieldfares east. 150- 200 pinkfeet west over Liver Hill (11.25)
Thievely Pike area - two singing skylarks and 3 over north. 1 pair stonechats
Reaps Moss - 1 hunting short-eared owl mid-afernoon. 1 jack snipe nr the new turbines
Freeholds Top - 5 golden plovers and a pair of teal on the little pond between here and Higher Hogshead. 1 Red grouse on the yorkshire side of the hill was the first I've seen in this area.
On the way home 6 skylarks in an improved field at Sharneyford and one dipper on a tiny stream near the Hile.
