Today is the first rain for 10 days, still only 8 degrees but calm.

Watching now I can only see 6 species, Blue, Great, and Coal Tit and even there numbers are down, Robin, Song Thrush and Dunnock.

All the finches have moved on and the Nuthatches have spread back through the woods along with the Great Spotted Woodpeckers, both of which are actively nest building.

Even the corvid numbers have reduced, in reflection this winter has again been mild with very little snow and only a couple of ground frosts lasting no more than three days.

The above is the probable reason for the missing species like Brambling and Redpoll, although it has been an excellent year for Siskin.

The station opposite my house is in its tenth year and in that time I have recorded 39 species actually on site, some others have appeared around the site but never fed, like Willow Warbler and Fieldfare.

Chiffchaff.

Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Green Woodpecker.

Blackbird.

Song Thrush.

Mistle Thrush.

Redwing.

Grey Wagtail.

Pied Wagtail.

Jay.

Carrion Crow.

Rook.

Jackdaw.

Collared Dove.

Wood pigeon.

Magpie.

Starling.

Stock Dove.

Pheasant.

Tawny Owl

Sparrowhawk.

We have also recorded the following mammals on site.

Roe Deer, Fox, Badger, Hedgehog ( last one was 7 years ago) Wood Mouse, Common Shrew, Brown Rat, and Pipistrelle Bat
