One or two Chiffchaffs have been present locally for a couple of days, but this morning along a route taken the last few mornings in similar weather, produced the following......
Chiffchaff..... 5, four in full song all in one area along the railway line between home and Stubbins. Another two in and around Porritt lodge.
Willow Warbler......2, feeding and chasing along the railway. 3 more in Buckden woods, only one was in weak song, first of this species this spring.
Blackcap....3 all males, two in the same tree along the railway line, which is a common breeding site and one in Buckden woods. None were in song or showing any signs of activity. First this spring.
The presumption is that most of these arrived overnight.
