Moth sightings from me.  Could be from anywhere in  Rossendale.

Last night I got a special visitor - a Swallow-tailed Moth.  Self identified online - so feel free to correct.

Can any one help with the second moth ?   Both visited my room last night.

Sarfraz,

I think your second moth is a Large Yellow underwing, if you had disturbed it you would have seen the bright yellow with brown border underwing.

Regards Brian.

Your first (4th here) photo is one of the 15 or so Tortrix moths which look very alike. Without a good close up it isn't possible to say which.

1293 Chrysoteuchia culmella a common moth on grass land of any sort.

third with a white head is 648 Endrosis sarcitella or White-shouldered House moth.
