Great crested grebe - 1pr with 2 large juvs still at Holden Wood
grey heron - adult and first winter bird at Holden Wood
cormorant - peak of 20 in the trees at Holden Wood
Canada goose - min 50 at Ogden, 1pr with 3 large goslings at Jamestones & 28 in the field above Troy Quarry
mallard - 15 adults and 3 mid size ducklings at Holden Wood
osprey - the much seen bird flying from Holden Wood towards Ogden
buzzard - possibly 2 different birds
kestrel - 2 at Calf Hey & 2 in Deep Clough/ Jamestones
moorhen - minimum of 12 in the field at Holden Wood
black headed gull - none seen on any of the reservoirs in the morning, but 51 were at Holden Wood, with another 39 flying in around 5pm
lesser black backed gull - 1 at Ogden & steady light passage through the day
woodpigeon - 25 at Calf Hey
stock dove - 2 over Holden Wood
collared dove - 1 at Heap Clough
green woodpecker - 1 at Jamestones/ Heap Clough
great spotted wood pecker - juvenile at Calf Hey
kingfisher - 1 at Holden Wood
swallow - 6 at Holden Wood, 22 at Calf Hey & 14 at Heap Clough
sand martin - 8 at Calf Hey
grey wagtail - 1 at Holden Wood & 2 at Calf Hey
pied wagtail - 4 at Heap Clough & 1 at Calf Hey
meadow pipit - 9 at Holden Wood
robin - juveniles at 2 sites at Calf Hey
stonechat - just 1 between Ogden & Calf Hey (Geoff and Brian reported a family party at Calf Hey)
blackbird - adult with 2 juvs at Calf Hey
long tailed tit - min 6 in mixed species flock at Calf Hey
coal tit - min 6 in mixed species flock at Calf Hey
spotted flycatcher - min 1 in mixed species flock at Calf Hey
treecreeper - min 1 in mixed species flock at Calf Hey
nuthatch - min 1 in mixed species flock at Calf Hey
starling - 19 at Heap Clough
linnet - 2 at Holden Wood, 5 at Ogden & flocks of 5 & c60 at Heap Clough
jay - 1 at Calf Hey
magpie - flock of 4 at Heap Clough & 2 at Holden Wood (numbers seem lower than usual)
carrion crow - flock of 6 at Ogden & 1 or 2 in other areas ( as with magpie numbers seem lower than usual)
raven - 1
goldfinch - charms of 4 at Calf Hey & 15 at Heap Clough
siskin - male and female on feeders at Clough Head, with a few other birds calling from nearby trees
redpoll - 2 birds calling near Holden Arms
greenfinch - calling bird at Calf Hey
bullfinch - calling bird at Calf Hey
reed bunting - calling bird at Holden Wood
