Hi Kevin

The Goldfinch was this in the large conifer planation right on the tops above marl Pitts

Was up there the other night there was a very large gathering of Goldfinch in the conifers very hard to get a count

Looked like they were settling down for the night

All so up to 180 mix gathering of Jackdaw and Carrion Crow with up 20 magpies in there

Never got round to putting in on hope you don't mind me tagging onto your report

Cheers Craggy

Hi Craggy

The goldfinches were mostly on thistles near the farm that I think is above Whitewell Bottom Community centre. They were also feeding in the field near the barn, but were also further over towards Edge Cote.  They must be using the conifers at Edge Cote (above Marl Pits) to roost.  They might also use the conifers above Whitewell Bottom.  Such a large charm must surely attract predators. Forgot to add there were also around 10 chaffinch in the same area

cheers Kevin
