Peregrine present on Hardmans Mill chimney (Newhallhey) 27/1 late afternoon then present on Ilex Mill chimney 29/1 plucking prey, then flew to Hardmans Mill again - afternoon.
Present again at Ilex Mill on 30/1, then low over Lidl car park (great views) towards Hardmans Mill, again during the afternoon.
Starling - 30 at Waingate 27/1 then 40 + at Grange rd/Newchurch rd with c30 in trees lower down Grange rd.
Goosander - 1m + 3f at Tip Lodge 29/1.
Song Thrush - singing birds all over in small numbers,- Rawtenstall cemetry, Mercer Cres, Reedsholme etc.
Long tailed Tit - flocks splitting up, 2 at Waingate + 4 at Tesco.
Bullfinch - 1 at Hurst Lane + pr at Waingate
Goldfinch - flocks of 11 + 14 Waingate/ Hurst Lane area
Siskin - present at Waingate, single figures on 27/1.
B.H.Gull - 16 atop lamp posts in Rawtenstall centre 29/1, probably my largest town centre count.
Cormorant - 7 flew N. over Mercer Cres. 08:05hrs, probably to Clowbridge res. where counts of 20 birds or more are present lately.
