Sorry about this very late posting, I have had trouble signing on to this site!
I sometimes walk my dog along the above path (behind Whitworth High School) and watch the birds as I go. This particular morning I saw:- 2 Siskin, 2 Goldcrest and 5 Common Gulls and another gull that seemed to be with them but keeping its distance. I soon realised that it was a first winter Mediterranean Gull. After watching the bird for about 2 minutes the "flock" took to the air and headed in a northerly direction. I walked down the lane later in the day but the bird was not refound.
