Stubbins to Ewood bridge.

Sunny intervals, southerly wind, 12 degrees.

The following are of particular note....

Dipper....five pair all showing nesting activities.

Grey Wagtail....two pair.

Kingfisher....active at two locations.

Mallard...one sitting female seen.

Sand Martin.....first of the year, six seen at nesting site.

Chiffchaff.....at least five heard in full song, two seen feeding at Alderbottom.

Long-tailed Tit.....three fully built nests, one pair carrying feathers.

Bullfinch.....two pair.

Siskin....unusually high numbers in several locations.

Green Woodpecker.....pair calling near last years nest site on cycle track.

Great Spotted Woodpecker....several pair nesting along route.

Nuthatch....good numbers

Grey Heron....one carrying sticks.

Moorhen.....pair on Irwell vale lodge.

Canada Goose....partially built nest in Irwell Vale.
