I have been monitoring seven Swallow nests in local Stables, last young have just fledged this morning, total of 23 young got away and only two casualties left in the nests. Some were second broods so as a very small sample they have done well.
Three nests were in artificial boxes two others were unused, I also put up boxes for House Martin but none were used and none were seen to breed in Strongstry or Chatterton, this has been the norm for several years.
Nearest successful House Martins were in Edenfield.
