A good turn out of 8 people helped achieve a record breaking total of 70 species seen on today's bird race.
Team winners were John & Kevin with 60 species and team totals were as follows:
John & Kevin 60 species.
Bob & David 57 species.
Brian & Sarfraz 55 species.
Ian & Russ 55 species.
We had one new species, a Common Sandpiper, on Clowbridge Reservoir and that now takes the total number of species seen on Winter Bird Races to 98.

Goldeneye, male in Jamestones and 2 males & 3 females on Ogden,

Kestrel, good numbers with perhaps 8 individuals seen,
Coot, 1 on Holden Wood Res,
Lapwing, c60 on Edge Cote,
Snipe, 5 on Edge Cote and 2 on Haslingden Moor,
Jack Snipe, 1 on Edge Cote,
Woodcock, 1 on Edge Cote,
Common Sandpiper, 1 at Clowbridge Res,
Kingfisher, seen on The Irwell & Wallbank,
Green Woodpecker, 1 at Cowm & 1 near Jamestones,
Raven,
Brambling, 1 at Clowbridge,
Siskin, 1 at Clough Head,
Crossbill, 1 calling at Edge Cote.
