Townsend Fold area

1 greylag goose flew around with two canadas and landed on HTL. Not there when I returned later in the day. Singing chiffchaff at Groundwork and singing reed bunting nr K Steel

Bonfire Hill area

7 ravens over the hill. The day before I counted 13 in the air at the same time here. 2 stock doves, kestrel and buzzard. Small flock (c20) fieldfares with one or two redwings nr Bottomley Bank

Clowbridge

As per Craig's post plus 2 reed buntings (1 singing), 2 pied wagtails and a curlew

Mitchells House

About 300 large gulls, mostly herring (50+ lesser black-backed, 2 great black-backed). 2 (pr?) goosanders, 4 pied wagtails, 2 curlew.

General

Apart from the absence of summer migrants the higher ground is still very quiet - only 4 curlews and no lapwings seen on my (long) walk. Relatively few reed buntings and no stonechats - don't think I've seen one away from Grane since the snow
