Overcast becoming brighter, calm 8 then 12 degrees, 0830/1130.

Of note....

First Swallow and Willow Warbler for me, both in Chatterton.

House Sparrow population in Chatterton excellent.

Chiffchaff.....several in song

Sand Martin.....4/3/6 over Irwell Vale

Three more Swallow at Ewood Bridge.

Dipper.....a week ago three pair nesting, now only one, they have nest built, could be sitting, in contrast Grey Wagtail numbers are high at least five pair showing nesting activity.

Kingfisher....one flying upstream.

Grey Heron.....Two on the river.

Willow Warbler....two more in song along the cycle track, also pair of Bullfinch carrying nest material.

Male Sparrowhawk over Lumb, also two Buzzard soaring over Moor road.

Great Spotted Woodpecker at nest site, and a single calling.

Green Woodpecker....one calling near Strongstry.

Tawny Owl in day roost.

Pair of Greenfinch and pair of Goldcrest appear to have taken up residence at back of my house.

Nuthatch numbers excellent.

Regards Brian.
