Like the subject says! I had 3 great views of the bird over a period of 30 mins before it disappeared.

It was right at the furthest end of the Rossendale Way, where the valley narrows and the path comes back down the other side of the valley, below what is shown on the OS map as Musden Head Moor. It was in a bush alongside a stream where there have been a couple of landslides in recent years.

Hi Paul,
I went up Musbury 19:15-21:15 but unfortunately couldn't locate the Shrike but many thanks for talking me to the right location. It was quite dark and gloomy when I got to the top and the bird had probably already one to roost. Just after we spoke the following were heard / seen so well worth the dash up there!:
Grey Partridge, calling bird,
Stonechat, singing male almost in the dark!
Tawny Owl, very vocal pair constantly calling once dark fell.
Regards,
David.

No joy for me late morning /early afternoon today (23/4) - a reasonable look round here and the top end of Alden later.
