One at Groundwork this morning (checked last years sites yesterday without any luck).
Amongst other bits and bobs along the river, whitethroats are at all the usual sites between Groundwork and Ewood Bridge (probably 5/6 territories) and sand martins have returned to the Townsend Fold site - 5 holes have been excavated and at least 2 are occupied - best count of individuals so far is 8 although numbers have been steadily increasing.
First fledged grey wagtail seen yesterday at Rawtenstall
