2 swans seen from the bus on the way to Burnley around 10.30. No sign of them when I got back to do a lap early afternoon (sailors out). 5 teal, 1 goosander, 2 cormorants and about 10 each of common and black-headed gulls present. Around 10 meadow pipits around the south shore
Clough Bottom
One whooper swan on the res with a few mallard and a goosander (quick scan from the road only). An interesting mixed flock in the plantation to the north of the road had at least 10 reed buntings with a few chaffinches, goldfinches and tits with 30+ fieldfares nearby (plus the odd redwing and mistle thrush)
Holden Wood
One shelduck at the west end unfortunately flushed by me and flew east. Also present at least 25 teal, 100 mallard and 180 canada geese. 1 snipe here the only wader seen today
