Bright sunshine, 8/16 degrees 0700/1030 hrs.

Strongstry woods.

Garden Warbler in full song and same pair feeding.

Chiffchaff in Song and a pair at nest site.

Willow Warbler, at least four pair, one carrying food.

Whitethroat Male in Song near last years nest site.

Blackcap, four pair seen one pair probably feeding young.

Swift, four over Alderbottom, my first this year.

Swallow, five with the Sand Martins on the river, where they have seven nests.

Ewood Bridge.

Whitethroat, pair at nest site.

Blackcap, two pair.

Willow Warbler, three individuals seen

Swifts high above.

Sand Martins at nest site.

Swallows, 15 + over river.

Cloughfold.

Two Pair Spotted Flycatcher, one pair have established a nest in river wall almost exactly where they nested last year.

 

Target species was Wood Warbler, but no sign.
