Just 4 birders today resulted in two teams of two and a total of 80 species seen which is the joint second highest ever total just two short of last year's record.

Scores were:

Team A. (RI & DN) 69 species.

Team B. (IB & KL) 66 species.

No new species were seen, however, there were several highlights including:

Dabchick, 1 on HTL,

G.C.Grebe, pair on Calf Hey,

Greylag Goose, 1 at Holden Wood,

Buzzard, several sightings inc 3 soaring birds,

Common Sandpiper, Clowbridge & Grane,

Little Owl,

Barn Owl,

Cuckoo, heard in Grane,

Kingfisher,

Green Woodpecker, 1 at Marl Pits,

Grasshopper Warbler, reeling at Clowbridge,

Whitethroat, pair at Ewood Bridge gathering food,

Garden Warbler, 1 at Townsendfold

Spotted Flycatcher, bird at Cloughfold,

Treecreeper, 1 at Calf Hey,

Raven, singles over,

Siskin, Grane,
