Late afternoon.

Cormorant, 4 in the trees,

Grey Heron, 1 over,

Canada Goose, sitting bird at EBSW being 'oined' by a Carrion Crow plus c100 at HWR,

Sparrowhawk, female at HWR chased away by Lapwings,

Kestrel, 1 on the tops,

Moorhen, 1,

Common Sandpiper, 1,

Dunlin, 1,

Lapwing, 4 pair HWR, 3 pairs on the tops,

Oystercatcher, just the 1 at HWR,

Curlew, at least 2 pairs on the tops,

Mediterranean Gull, 1 flew the length of the res and off over the dam wall,

B.H.Gull, c6,

Skylark, c12 on the tops, several in song,

Swallow, c20,

House Martin, 2 at EBSW,

Sand Martin, 2 in Jamestones,

Meadow Pipit, c12 at HWR and c12 on the tops,

Grey Wagtail, 1 on The Irwell,

Pied Wagtail, c12,

Wheatear, 6 above Troy,

Song Thrush, c5 singing birds,

Mistle Thrush, 2 singing birds,

Willow Warbler, c20 singing birds in total but not many along the Irwell,

Blackcap, c5 singing birds,

Coal Tit, c12 singing birds,

L.T.Tit, c4,

Nuthatch, 1 singing,

Raven, pair now feeding young in Rawtenstall,

Starling, c50,

House Sparrow, c30,

Goldfinch, c20,

Greenfinch, 2,

Bullfinch, 2,

Chaffinch, c20,

Reed Bunting, just 1 at HWR.
