Of the five monitored sites between Stubbins and Irwell Vale four have fledged young, the fifth site is on private land and can only be viewed from some distance, both adults are flying up and down carrying food so I assume young somewhere.
One of the other sites was on Buckden Brook, this is the first nest site I have found in 15 years away from the main river and has three fledglings. So after three years of poor results we seem to have had a good year with the possibility of second broods.
