A great find by David and seen by quite a few of us. Must only be second Rossendale record ever or so? Great photo with the Great Crested Grebe. Well done!
Still present around 1.30 despite presence of wind-surfers, fishermen and loads of dog walkers (ugh!), so maybe it will hang around. Possibly the same bird as mine - we will never know - but I think we should give David the full credit for this one!
still present at 7pm and looked as though it was going to roost, for those who haven't had the chance to go and see it yet.
2 kestrels & 2 lapwing also seen. Perhaps 500+ jackdaws flew in from the north to roost probably at Dunnockshaw, although some birds had originally settled in the deciduous trees on Nutshaw Hill/ New Laithe. 10 rooks also flew in from the east to roost.
