After a walk around the Grane reservoirs with Sarfraz (which he will no doubt document in his ongoing thread), I took a detour up to Troy quarry to see what was around. It was pretty quiet, but I was surprised to find 2 cormorants on the rocks by the water - they are the first I've ever had on Troy.
Another first was a large dead roach floating in the water, indicating that it must contain a thriving fish population. I estimate it would have weighed between 1-1.5lbs which really is a specimen fish for a Rossendale water.
