One at the bridge next to Lumb Viaduct yesterday morning. The ring was red with white writing and I think the top letter may possibly have been a B. Might this be the same bird Kevin saw last year?

Hi Craig

Had a Grey Wagtail yesterday at Strongstry just up river from where the footbridge used to be

just on the bend on the river, was flitting around so did not see a ring on it before it flew up river

Cheers Craggy

Hi Andy

My bird was a male, that appeared to be on territory. The code on the colour ring was BX. I'll email Paul Hopwood to see if there have been any further sightings since mine.

cheers Kevin

There are two pair Grey Wagtail currently on usual territory on the Irwell between Stubbins and Alderbottom, the pair near the now gone picture frame, which I presume was the one craggy saw and another pair near Alderbottom viaduct, cant say I have seen any of those with a ring, but will pay more attention tomorrow.

Regards Brian.

I've had a swift reply from Paul Hopwood and if, as seems likely, it is the same bird I saw last year, this is the first re-sighting of it

cheers Kevin
