Either side of Noon.

Buzzard, soaring birds in many locations. A group of 5 birds were soaring together over Irwell Vale,

Sparrowhawk, female over the tops,

Kestrel, 3 singles,

Pheasant, calling male from rushy field,

Lapwing, 6 birds on the very top; unusual here!

Oystercatcher, 1 calling at EBSW,

Curlew, pair in Alden,

Stock Dove, pair at Irwell Vale & 14 in Alden,

G.S.Woodpecker, calling bird in Buckden Clough,

Skylark, c20, many in song,

Swallow, 4 at Ewood Bridge, 1 over the moor top and 1 in Alden,

Sand Martin, 2 at Ewood Bridge,

Meadow Pipit, c30,

Pied Wagtail, c12,

Grey Wagtail, males at Snig Hole and Irwell Vale,

Wheatear, 2 males at the top of Alden,

Mistle Thrush, 1 singing bird,

Song Thrush, 2 singing birds,

Chiffchaff, 7 singing birds along Snig Hole and Irwell Valley,

Willow Warbler, 2 singing birds near Irewell Vale,

Blackcap, 3 singing birds Snig Hole and Irwell Valley,

L.T.Tit, 2 singles,

Coal Tit, c6,

Blue Tit, c8,

Great Tit, c8,

Nuthatch, c12 singing birds between Snig Hole to Strongstry,

Raven, 2 singles, 1 'gronking' whilst soaring high,

Jay, 1 near EBSW,

Goldfinch, c12,

Greenfinch, 4, a couple of 'wheezing' birds,

Chaffinch, c20, many in song,

Bullfinch, single female at Meadow Park,

Reed Bunting, 2.
