Sat 24 Apr - singing whitethroat Ewood Bridge

Fri 23 April - reeling grasshopper warbler in the big field south of the bypass bridge. This is my first here for about 10 years

Common sandpiper on several dates, plus all the usual riparian spp. Dippers appear to be absent from the area around the bypass bridge but all other sites are occupied. Around 40 sand martins at the colony.

No goosanders this week and very little hirundine activity around the sewage works

Also yesterday a greylag goose and a reeling grasshopper warbler at Holden Wood

Andy
