11am - 2pm.

Had a look up for any migrant Whinchat, but didn't see any.

HWR...

2 Dunlin, 1 Curlew, 1 C Sand, 1 Oystercatcher flew in, 1 Cormorant, 1 fem Wheatear, 2 pr Stonechat, 1 Gropper reeling.

Ogden to CH..

Very quiet until return trip back to HWR a Cuckoo appeared on the fence 30 yrd away!! The next 30 mins involved much stalking, crawling in the wet grass and lying in mud but it was worth it. Had terrific views of the bird down to 20ft when It didn't see me for 2 seconds.. It was constantly followed and mobbed by a decent flock of angry M Pipits and Stonechats... Bird eventually departed SE towards Helmshore when a large group of wa*kers came loudly past!!.
