A day out to the east coast planned with a 1st stop off at Blacktoft Sands RSPB to see a bird species I managed to miss at Leighton Moss several years ago.. I arrived at the reserve at 7 to find the car park 3/4 full and lots of folk hurrying down to the Xerox hide. Joining them in there I managed to squeeze in and was on the bird immediately. After 30 mins of watching it I left the hide to give the arriving hoards a chance to view the bird and I headed to another hide when my phone rang, there was a mass panic back home as the ridge tiles on the roof had decided to start sliding off the roof and teetering on the edge of the troughing above the footpath below. So a mad dash back home to sort it meant id driven c2 hr each way for 30 mins of birding!! Great. Nice bird though...
