Sunshine, calm 16 degrees 0800/1030 hrs.

Goldfinch, 20+ feeding on thistle.

Whitethroat, single feeding.

Stonechat, family party including three young, single male at Buckhurst.

Starling, large flock feeding in fields which included lots of young.

Pied Wagtail, 10+ young with several adults in fields.

Grey Wagtail, 2 young near ruined mill.

Dipper, single on Cheesden Brook.

Sand Martin, 7 feeding over water.

Moorhen, 2 juvenile on Buckhurst lodge, also single Grey Heron and 12 Mallard.

Linnet, 3 over.

Great Spotted Woodpecker, a single adult was drumming on a telegraph pole, unusual record for here.

Swallow, good numbers feeding over fields at Buckhurst, also 7/9 House Martins.

House Sparrow,  15+ around Buckhurst.

Lapwing, 14 feeding in fields near Two Owls cottage.

Snipe, 7 flushed on Harden Moor.

Meadow Pipit, 8 on moorland walls.

Skylark, 3 over.

Kestrel, 2 hunting over Harden Moor.

No shortage of Carrion Crow, Magpie, Woodpigeon, and Jackdaw.
