Slavonian Grebe - Mitchell's House Reservoir

 

Still showing very well at 11:00 feeding close to the edge catching small fish 

Lifer for me

Slavonian Grebe still showing well 

was on the South Reservoir feeding well on small fish

Slavonian grebe still present this morning. it was hugging the north shore and took some finding, 

Also noted

  • 73 Canada geese,
  • 1 redhead goosander,
  • very rough estimate of gulls; c5 great black-backs, c40 herring, c20 common & c10 black-headed
  • 3 lapwing over
  • 1 stock dove
  • 2 collared dove

female stonechat & a buzzard at Black Moss

c250 starling, c50 fieldfare & c10 redwing in 3 flocks around Stonefold & Black Moss Nook

flock of 4 bullfinch at Stonefold

Just about managed to get there this afternoon as dusk was falling with the Slavonian Grebe in the middle of the res as I left at 5:10P.M.
Also seen:
Short Eared Owl mobbing a Buzzard. Poor record shot taken from video attached.
Kestrel over the moor.
