Winter feeding station Strongstry

Lowest recored temperature yesterday evening was -9.5 C, over the last few days the site has been very busy, the snow and ice has been cleared and we had some bright sunshine today

During a 3 hour count the following was recorded, numbers are estimated because of lots of movement.

Blue Tit.  14

Great Tit.  12

Coal Tit.  Extremely difficult to count approx 10

Long-tailed Tit.  12.

Goldfinch.  18

Chaffinch.  23 before the snow this was around 9

Bullfinch.  8

Redpoll.  4   2 arrived last weekend.

Robin.  7

Wren.  At least 5

Dunnock.  5

Nuthatch.  8

Blackbird.  19 probably 7/8 before the snow came.

Song Thrush.  5

Grey Wagtail   2

Treecreeper.  1

Great Spotted Woodpecker.  2 pair.

Jay.  5

Woodpigeon.  7

Stock Dove.  2

Feral Pigeon.  7

Collared Dove   4

Jackdaw    10

Magpie   2
