Osprey fishing Ogden briefly but successfully 12.50 noon visible from  Holden Wood Res, circled over then headed to Mary's Wood and landed with it's catch.  However it stayed a maximum of 10 minutes then flew off without fish towards Hutch Bank after much circling.

 

Probable Marsh Harrier too but evaded full confirmation.

Osprey seen today around 12.50 noon circling but not fishing.

It may have Been seen earlier at 9am over Ogden. 5 birds of prey day with Buzzard Kestrel Sparrowhawk seen and a Merlin above Clough Head

1 Snipe and approx 15 Swift unexpected. 2 large duckling still with mummy. 2 Curlew still. 0 Wheatears

 

21 August 1 Teal at Holden Wood Res

20 August 3 Curlew together in field at Holden Wood Res....local breeders probably considering present after


15 August 2 Wheatear above Jamestone East

Osprey seen over Ogden aroud 11am onwards and then from 4pm ish over Calf Hey, Holden Wood, Clough Head and Jamestone Quarries. It seemed to be very active today.
