A YBW was heard calling once this afternoon and was caught in my bird feeder ringing net ride at home. On first seeing the bird I immediately thought it looked a totally different colour and its behaviour was completely different to Tuesdays one.. A lovely YBW spent some time around our feeders and in my garden this afternoon and showed extremely well (5-6ft!) Dave O was fortunate to be there when it showed at its best. Not seen later till dusk but will check in the morning to see if its still around. More pics on my Flickr page. Link below.

A bird most probably of this species opposite the sewage works entrance yesterday afternoon (c.2.00 so couldn't be Craig's bird?). Called three or four times as it moved swiftly through the canopy before going quiet. Unfortunately didn't see it and was unable to relocate subsequently Andy

In a steady drizzle between 1030hrs and 1300hrs movement of Fieldfare and Redwing along the Irwell valley mostly going north, the ones I could see were 14/25/12 Redwing, 9/24/12/8 Fieldfare, there were more in the murk I could not count. Regards Brian.
