does any one ave any information on what deer species arefound in rossendale and where the best places to view deer  would be in rossendale?

i have only ever seen 1 deer  in rossendale and  that was in jan 2003 on the dual carriageway which links rawtenstall/haslngden with the m66.   i saw the deer twice - once in an 2003 and then in april and then it mid april it was lying dead on the side.  the 2 times i saw it was on the left hand side as you'd leave rossendale, in the roadside plantation.

i would lov more information on  deer in rossendale if anyone has any.

The best place for Roe Deer is the woodland alongside the old railway at Irwell Vale towards Stubbins, you will have to be there early. The deer tracks are obvious at this time of year.
Muntjac are supposed to be in Deeply Vale but I have not seen them.
Any patch of woodland could harbour deer but they are sometimes seen in a field with the sheep and I have seen them grazing on the grass verges on Bacup Road in the wee hours. I hope this helps.
